Expression Pedal - What do you use for PA3X?

Post by T3X »

I have a couple questions:

1. Is there a pedal that you can use both to slide up and down like the joystick?

2. Which pedal is best to slide?

I have the Yamaha FC7 expression pedal (built like a WWII tank) and the Behringer FCB1010 MIDI foot controller (has 2 expression pedals!!!)

Guess what Pete? You just remind me that I also got a Behringer FCB1010 which I totally forgot about for the last 3-4 years!!!

I remember I got problem to get it to work with my old IS40. I chucked it in my garden shed and it's been there brand new since then.

Is it easy to set it up? Have you got all the switches and both pedals to function?

Best pedal = KORG XVP10 its solid like a tank.

I have also:
Korg EXP-2 (cheap one, sucks big time, bad quality, destroys fast)
Yamaha FC7 (Good for its price)
M-audio (not 100% compatible)

yes & yes

This Behringer FCB1010 PC editor is great (and FREE):-
http://host.mtnsys.com:81/faq-fcb/PCEditorBeta.htm

Use mine for things like:-
...selecting PERFORMANCES
...selecting STYLE elements (FILLs VARs INTROs etc….)
...controlling volumes of ACC parts (UPPER 1 & 2 using the 2 pedals)

Cheers

Then this one is better then KORG EC5? You have more then 5 options. Right? Is there another alternative without pedals where you have more then 5 switches like the EC5

Very versatile. I got to pull mine out and give it another go. Not sure yet how it gonna fit between my keyboard legs (X style).

Correct - many banks of the 10 pedals BUT there are some options that Korg do not give you the MIDI for in the manuals but the EC5 still can do so I use both pedals!!

I am using that pedal about 2+ years... So far it is rock solid. The only thing about it is that you have to put some grease on plastic part,to avoid crunching and similar noises when is that plastic part dry.
