Your thoughts on aftertouch

Post by dannyjo »

I just joined a Praise Worship team. I own a Korg TR-76. The church is getting a new keyboard and my recommendation is going to be a Korg Krome. Do you miss the lack of aftertouch on the Krome is that an overrated feature in your minds.

It really depends on how and what you play. I play in the praise band in my church and NEVER use after touch even though I have it. But a lot of players use it. Comes down to what your keyboardist needs.

Just wanted to chime in here that while the Krome keybed does not have A/T, the synth engine supports it, so if you connected via midi to a keyboard that does have A/T, you could trigger it in the Krome. Keep in mind that since the Krome keyboard does not have A/T, none of the pre-programmed patches have it enabled, so you would have to edit it in if you wanted it to work.
regards,
Tim
