Hello, I seek clarification regards selling an almost-new Korg instrument.
I see some adverts stating something like: "six months' factory warranty still valid."
I realise that any original warranty between myself and the original supplier expires with the reselling of the goods. But what about the Korg factory warranty, the one that allows a further year's cover if you register your purchase online?
thanks for any information on this.
Question about Korg factory warranty when reselling.

When I worked for Korg UK the warranty wasn't transferable as the guarantee was from the retailer not the manufacturer (i.e Korg) so I would check the receipt of the purchase to see if the guarantee is transferable from the retailer.
I doubt this has changed since.

Thank-you for your response. Yes, one supposes this would the case whether it be a Korg keyboard, a washing machine or car...mikemolloyuk wrote:When I worked for Korg UK the warranty wasn't transferable as the guarantee was from the retailer not the manufacturer (i.e Korg) so I would check the receipt of the purchase to see if the guarantee is transferable from the retailer.

Possibly the element of doubt (to my mind) is when the manufacturer encourages the item's purchaser to registered their item online or via post. What is that *secondary* warrantee all about, I wonder?

Registering as the original owner with the manufacturer not only helps with having your product repaired for free, it will also help with the serial number recognition should the item become stolen. The number would be registered to a persons name and if the same number came up after a theft alert then the manufacturer can help.
