UNfrigging believable!!!

Post by UCanDream »

Okay...in advance of this b!+ch I'm about to launch, I am saying "sorry."

"Sorry."

So most of my gear is Korg. (Do you hear that, Korg? Nope! Of course they don't! Many of us are victims of constitutional, legalized, and legitimized financial rape by a corporation that is seemingly, at times, without eyes and ears of the VERY income that we, the consumer, provide them with.)

Several days of not playing my KronosX 73 and now...the infamous key clatter! It is unbelievable! I play 95% of the time in well dampened headphones. I have never gigged with the X. (I mean not gigged with the Kronos, not the "X" wife...) Out of no where!!! This hideous clatter!!! I am fricking furious about this! Sorry I am in a tirade. I have spent hours reading of other's tangents regarding this issue and always thought it wasn't a big deal. YES IT IS!

Now what do I do? On hold at this every second with the retailer I purchased the Kronos from.

Korg! It is inexcusable that you deliver awesome technology and s]-[!+ for hardware!! I will NEVER buy Korg again!

One more time: "I am sorry for this rant."

Off topic, www.korgforums.com rocks!! I mean that.

Hopefully, I don't get rebuked or booted by an anxious administrator.

Any suggestions on what I do for a quick fix?

Thanks.

Have you checked the screws underneath, are any loose or missing?
One owner discovered a piece of aluminium loose inside that was catching on the key mechanism.
If its out of warranty, i would be straight in there to see what the problem is, if not, send it back for repair.

OH!! This is real nice!!

Call: 631-390-6500 and experience the amazing 'chase your own tail' episode.

"Please select from one of the following options..." Blah blah blah.

Also, their support line (now that I got a recording) is available "Monday, Wednesday, and Friday."

Isn't this sweet? You can buy the most expensive hardware synth on the market (that I am personally aware of) and NOT reach a fack!ng human support on a dayamn Tuesday!!!

I call Roland and Yamaha any day of the week (Mon.-Fri.) and get a human on the phone! Thank GOODNESS I spent more and got less!!

Here it is, loud: "THANK YOU KORG."

not!

thats what your retailer is for. Use them.

Sounds like the key bed shifted. But we can't do exactly do " Doctor Internet " here

It will get resolved

Dude. I understand your frustration. Really, I do. But don't give up and call it all a giant waste just yet. This will be resolved.

Hi, Greg.

I know, man. Sorry. I'm venting. I know there's no Internet Doctor.

So you know, I bought my Kronos in Sept, 2012. Retailer is now sending me to the manufacturer. Funny thing is, the retailer answers their phone. Korg? Nope! A sweet message that gets a person nowhere!!!! They work 3 days out of seven. Wow!

Way to gain the masses, Korg!

Hi, Sander...

I understand. Sorry. In a month, this will (likely) be behind me and I won't be a cry baby anymore. Please tolerate me until then. I'll slow down a touch...again, sorry.

Dammit!

We all know its huge suck age when the baby lets you down.

I would not do a meltdown on korg, at least that's not how I resolve problems.

Just hang in there and it will get fixed.

Right on, bro.

I never "lose it" with people, especially on the phone. Going ballistic on 'the help' is a good way to alienate someone. I just was dispelling frustration online.

___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

OH GEEZ!! Okay... Splinters! Thank you for something I should have looked at before my little baby tirade! The freaking screws! Me, being a craftsman for 30 years and NOT checking the connecting hardware! What a dummy! Sorry. Five twists and the keybed is solid and quiet.

Alright, next issue: Who the hell in Japan is not tightening these screws to spec? And, just so you all know...there ARE locking washers in place! There are two types of locking washers. One utilizes a series of teeth and the other uses a split and twist concept, thus causing a compression bind with the screw. My query is, why the hell is there so little effort in the production of the Kronos (FOUR F***@#$ THOUSAND DOLLARS WORTH OF HARDWARE) that a screw cannot seemed to be properly set???

Last question before I get removed from korgforums.com, how do I terminate or delete this thread?

By the way, SCREW you KORG! Pun intended!
lol...

Glad you got it sorted.

Just leave the thread be as a lesson to those who have a screw loose.

Definitely a problem that shouldn't have occurred, but I'm happy for you it was such a quick and easy fix!

Thank you, Phil.

Oddly, the loose screws were mid-riff and right side of the most 'key offenders,' which were in the bass clef. In fact, the screws on the bass side were relatively snug.

I was searching for a way to make this thread disappear...but I will stay it put, as per your suggestion, for others who might jump the gun and think their K is all jacked up.

I really wish (and very much doubt) that Korg staff watched this forum. I know one guy does here in the U.S., but imagine if English speaking Japanese guys on the assembly line at Korg Japan could see these complaints. Japan software and hardware developers, engineers, and assembly workers are amazing. Why the hell does KORG toss cool stuff together to become sh!+? That is is serious query! KORG...you reading me? No, they don't and they won't. Why the heck do I have WAY more faith in the longevity of my nearly 24-year-old 01/W Pro than I will ever have in my Kronos? I am frigging disgusted with this!!!!

LOL, Greg!

I 'bout choked on my spit laughing at your message.

Fine, I am packed a ready to roll! Crap! Why am I buying my own plane ticket when Korg could fly me with the money they spend just on NOT screwing things together tight.

Oh wait...they are spending that money on warranty related issues.

Sorry. NO, I am NOT a hater! I love Korg. I just wish they loved us. Jerks! Learn to freaking use a screwdriver!!
