i bought it second hand obviously, and first thing i did was a factory reset or how u call it. now, my sound bank is empty. i have only a few instruments and nothing special.
how can i put back the sounds ?
software is 2.0.0
korg trinity plus
hdr-tri
psb-tri
can somebody explain me what version of trinity i have please ? thanks and sorry for all the stupid questions

Congratulations - you've just gotten yourself a wonderful synth! Also including a 4-track audio recorder and a flash based (non-volatile) sample playback functionality with 8 MB memory - both of which are rather rare options to find these days. (Although finding a SCSI disk or other solution for the recorder to work might be a challenge.)
Go to the download section of this forum and you'll find plenty of material to copy to a floppy disk (PCG files) and load into your Trinity. Keep us posted on progress, and have fun, most of all!!!!

You should be able to find the factory set and other useful downloads on the official Korg page, too. http://i.korg.com/SupportPage.aspx?productid=461
And a google search will overwhelm you.

having the pbs tri you will be able to load extra multisounds upto 100 with 500 samples
your version is the + version with the extras pbs-tri and hdr-tri
the pbs-tri flash gives you the extra banks c and d
and doubles the area of the solo-tri from 64 to 128
and gives you 8mb flash rom for user samples

thanks a lot guys! now another stupid question... we live in a era that floppy disk is considered vintage
. now seriously, i don t have a floppy or floppy disks. is there any way i could update the firmware and add soundbanks via midi cable ? basically, i want to do everything via midi cable instead of floppy. if not, i ll go and buy

you can fit an floppy emulator
or you can use scsi cf flash drive
you can use trinitro to dump pcg files as sysex and dump samples but dumping 8mb of samples is going to take a long time
but all patch pcg libraries and prophecy sysex can be dumped via midi as can samples via the midi dump standard and how i dump my patches but the floppy is the quickest way to get multisounds under 1.4mb in
scsi is much faster but at a high cost

Really? I'm not sure of that... In fact, I'm almost sure the Trinity does not accept sample dump.jhulk wrote:...dump samples but dumping 8mb of samples is going to take a long time
But otherwise exactly as jhulk wrote. No need to update the firmware, Trinity and Trinitro are a perfect combination to transfer sound banks and patches between the synth and the computer. Same with the emulator, if you don't mind investing some more.

You can buy USB floppy drives for about 10 dollars I think (ebay).

USB floppy drive is the easiest way to load pcgs.
Floppy is the only way to update to OS 2.4.1.
If you have a Midi interface, I have the programs and combis in raw sysex format too. Please PM.
Be sure to Global P2 enable System Exclusive
and unprotect program, combis and drumkit
There are several tools which transfer pcgs over midi
sounddiver trinity
trinitro
pcg tools
Enjoy the factory sounds first.
Don't worry about the samples -- kmp ksf ksc -- yet.
