Is it possible to turn off quantisation in the VB? I'll play a syncopated part, and the VB will quantise it out of shape. The workaround, I suppose, is to record it live into my DAW, but I'd like to know if I can record it the way I want into the VB.
Next question: If I play stuff too quickly the VB will record only, say, half the notes. Again, is the only way to get what I want to record it live into the DAW?

nope - it´s a 16 step sequencer.
that is all it is going to record, and it is ALWAYS quantizing to a 1/16th grid.
the volca keys has a "flux" mode which allows to record unquantized notes, but the other 2 Volcas do not have that feature.
this is why by doubling the speed, you shorten the (perceived) length of the pattern, but double it´s precision, e.g. the grid, to 1/32nds.
