nanoPad (1) pads not generating MIDI (roll works)

Post by Yogev »

Hi,

I have recently unboxed my Korg NanoPad (1) (I have bought the whole Nano collection several years ago) and it is not working well ...

I am running WinXP sp2 and Cubase 5.5.2

I first connected the NanoPad to the PC and let it recognize it with the "regular" MIDI driver ...
It showed up as "USB MIDI device" in my BCViewer and Cubase - but it did not ouput defined notes (no MIDI input to cubase) and the only MIDI input came from using the XYpad (it did ouput some note on msgs when i hit the pads really hard - but these messages were not consistant ) and it also outputted almost all the notes together when using the "roll + pad + any note pad"

So I downloaded the latest driver (1.14) and editor from the Korg website .... Installed it with no problems ....
EDIT - i had 10 MIDI drivers already installed - so i deleted one and the new driver showed up and my NanoPads are accessible via KontrolEditor ...

HOWEVER - the PROBLEM PERSISTS with the new driver also ...
The pads are not really reacting (if I push them or hit them really hard I get some random "notes" playing"

The "roll" function works and generates ALL notes in the octave (scene) - except A# ..... (XY parameters are effecting the vel/speed)

(I restarted the PC after every installation - and also a few times after that)

Please help .... :(

Thanks,
Yogev
