Can't turn writeprotect off - broken knob?

Hello korgforum

Just bought an old microkorg from a friend
When i try to turn writeprotect off by pressing shif+8 the display keeps blinking "on" no matter how i turn knob 1.

The knob works for setting cutoff and all edit values that are multi option - but for numeric value it never catches the right number, and the values keeps blinking no mater how i turn.

Anyone experienced this? Or am i just misunderstanding something about how this works?

it works for me. turned it on pressed shift+8, turn knob 1/cutoff to the left.
so it should work for you also.

thats the thing, it should work, but it never switches to off. very weird.
any other suggestions about what could be wrong?

Your knob may not be tight onto the pot shaft. Try finding a hex key and tightening the knob's setscrew. I have this problem all the time with the Edit Select 2 knob.
