Hi! Korg m50 keeps playin even after i stop

Post by rolemodel »

hi. i have a recent problem on my korg m50.
First when i was playing strings or hammond , during the play , sounds freezes ....and no matter what i touch it doesnt play anymore but the menu doesn;t freeze. i can change combi, prog , global or change the tone but that sound keeps hearing. It stops only when i shut down the keyboard. this happens at random ....i couldn.t find a pattern.

last week i cleaned up the rubber bands and the contacts on the contact board and it was fine for a day or 2. but then another thing happened , after a period of playing it didn't sound of what i was playing...it changed to some random notes.

beside this the sound blocks for seconds while i still play...like ure blocking a key.

anyone heard about this? any solution to this? or my keyboard it's simply possessed and needs an exorcisation :))
Thanks and sry for my english but im very intrigued because all happened all of a sudden

it happend to me from time to time. i solved it by shorten the releastimes of the sounds i made and the reverbs releasetime. i guess this has simply to do with voicestealing. i dont have the problem anymore. i suggest to try this first.
I hope this helps.

M-50 sustaining random notes

Post by Quark88 »

Where to begin???? I had this problem with the M50 about 6 months after purchase and during live gigs too! Then I had an added problem of it freezing up. I had it fixed by a local repair guy he said he replaced a capacitor. 6 months later it happened again. This time I took it to a Korg authorized repair guy who replaced the board. Now it's a year later and guess what it's back! Korg should recall this keyboard!
