Modulating user sample start points in realtime ?

Post by kineticsoundprism »

does anyone know if there is a way to fully modulate sample start points in realtime using something like velocity or lfo ?

I don't think so... For user samples you can only change the start position to either the sample start or the loop start (if there is one).

Some of Korg's RAM samples have several points (up to eight) that you can choose as your start point. But as far as I'm aware you can't modulate them.

Ummm... I suppose you could do it via velocity by loading up the same sample in the OSC1 basic Tab, and set a different start point for each sample, then adjust the velocity layering... a bit overly complicated though, but you still can't use your own samples this way.

It would be great if Korg allowed you to set your own 8 start points for user samples.

It iss possible using AMS and other stuff but i haven't tried, i don't see
why it shouldn't be possible, almost anything is assignable. And in AMP EG
Mode you have all the options that you need for that

All of that is correct.
Wave Sequences (with run=off, and step selection modulation to taste) are another way.
