I Want To Set Up Decay For A Program Added To A Combi

Post by DaveMcKeen »

Hello, I changed program #5 of combi A040 Natural Mix to A009 Flute Vibrato, changed #5 MIDI Channel from 10 to Gch and Changed prog 5 “Enable Damper” from unchecked to checked. I like the results but I would like the flute’s amplitude to decay like a piano while the note or damper pedal is held down.

It looks like I should be able to do something in Tone Adjust (Page 0) with Amp EG Decay Time, but I can’t make it do anything. I’m not able to find out in the sections of the User Manual or the Parameter Guide that deal with Tone Adjust what I can do.

Can it be done? Thanks, - Dave

Hi Dave,

The toe adjust work for each timbre separately. Please be sure if you change the decay of mentioned timbre.
After open the Tone Adjust window, select the timbre (under the combi name) witch want to change the parameters.

Please tell me if something change.

Cheers,
Dan

Hi Dan,

I completely missed that the whole Tone Adjust screen is for one program assigned to one timbre. So I did what you said and assigned the Flute program, A009, to Timbre 05.

I'm getting somewhere. I assigned Amp EG Sustain Level to SL! and set the value to -99 and the note fades completely in about two seconds. That's a little too fast for me. Then I assigned Amp EG Decay Time to SL2 and set the value to +25.

That's it. It's under my control now. Thanks so much!!

As an aside.... tone adjust edits, when made to a program, acutally cause the program's underlying parameters to change when you write the program.

For combis, the tone adjusts remain in the combi and do not modify the program when saved.
