Hello everyone
i just got the r3 recently and i'm really getting confuse about how is the right way to connect it to my interface and record the sound from r3 in to cubase 7...
i have read the manual and it is say that i need to use midi in and midi out cable... i went last week to guitar center and got this cables : http://www.guitarcenter.com/Mogami-Gold ... 3.gc?nce=1
but when i connect the cables from the R3 output L/R to my motu microbook 2 Line In 3-4 i can not hear any sound or if i do hear anything it is very low sound...
so if someone can please guide me how to setup it the right way in cubase 7 and my interface and also let me know if the cables that i use are the right one or maybe i need the midi in / out cables...
Thanks for the help
how to connectg the R3?

Hi,
I assume you use a pair of such a cable? From cable point of view, your setup should be ok. It is a matter of turning up the volume/gain. On all possible intermediate steps, being the volume of the R3, gain for the line-in 3/4 on the Motu and even maybe some gain setting in Cubase.
MIDI cables will not help. They can not be used to transport sound. They can only transport events like, you hit a key, turned a controller. Of course, using a MIDI cable, you can record then those events as well and edit them on your computer to let them play again by the R3. But you clearly state that you want to record the sound. So don't bother about the MIDI cables.
Success!
