More dynamics when playing acoustic Piano

Post by Insight »

I would like a way to have more dynamics when playing acoustic piano. Is there a way to change the dynamics so that when I comp on acoustic piano with a lighter touch it will be softer and then when I solo it will be louder?

try a couple of the different velocity curve settings in Global. Depending on which keybed you have (61 or 73/88 ), different settings are ideal. #9 is generally the most dynamic for the weighted boards.

In the SGX-1 engine, VELOCITY INTENSITY does just that. Positive values increase dynamic range while negatives do the opposite (-100 all notes sound the same volume).

Also, VELOCITY BIAS can provide some additional tonal range. Try negative numbers up to -25 or so.
