EXs14 has corrupted files.

I went to install the EXs14 EDM Drums and the exe file is corrupt. I sent an e-mail to KORG support and hope they get back to me ASAP so that I can jump into the new sets and making music again.

Someone else recently had a problem like this and they said it was because they downloaded using internet explorer. They said it worked when they downloaded it using a Chrome browser.

Maybe it wasn't Chrome that was the solvent.?

I downloaded and unpacked the files without any problem, so the files on the Korg server can't be corrupt.

There must be an error in the download/unpacking chain somewhere.
EXS14 is small: have you tried downloading it again, or from another computer or with firefox?

I've noticed more errors recently when trying to install various EXs. I found that if I reformatted the USB stick using the Kronos Format command and then put the stick back into my computer and copied the EXs folder onto the stick, it almost always works. Copying the folder ensures you are bringing over all the files.

OK, I reformatted the USB thumbdrive inside the KRONOS from the KRONOS format command then reloaded all of the files unpacked from the EXs14.zip to the thumbdrive then attempted to load the file EXs14.exsins on the KRONOS as specified in the accompanying PDF instruction manual and I continue to get the following error " Failed EXs Install.exsins file error " I have tried to download from now from the following browsers: Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer, and Chrome all resulting in the same error. All of my other Libraries load without issue, I am still waiting to hear back from Korg Regarding this. I am now certain that the EXs14.exsins file is indeed corrupt, I even attempted to download the zip file from 3 different computers to see if that was the issue. 10 hours of my life wasted so far tying to correct this issue, needless to say I'm a little bit annoyed. If your going to sell an expansion sound library, please make sure you test it and it WORKS first.........

Just to be sure: you have updated your Kronos OS before trying to install?

Indeed I am running KRONOS operating system version 2.1.2
For 100% certain the Kronos Sound Library EXs14 data available from:https://shop.korg.com/kronossoundlibraries is corrupt and must be updated.

Not all USB sticks are compatible. Some work better then others. Try another one.

You wouldn't by chance be trying to load the "._" version of the file? Mac OS adds these files which are normally hidden. Lower down the file list are the actual files.

Even if this is not the case, you might try using the Kronos delete function to kill off the "._" files. Worth a shot.

Without having trying this , there is no one chance in a million !
<<RULE>> : Use any commercial USB stick 2.0 protocol compatible between 4 - 64 GB but format it via your Kronos OS.
Then copy all UnRar contents of EXS14 (all included files ) in root level of your formatted USB stick and install it following instructions PDF !

- Another similar situation happened to a customer of my EXs Libraries getting always " Failed EXs Install.exsins file error "
and the reason was a malware attack that had infected his system and all his downloaded files , so for precaution reasons ,
try to download EXs via another "clean"computer and copy files to your USB stick !
- Also people never copy to your Kronos USB stick folders created on PC/Mac with security rights that Linux can't handle !

Issue Solved...

Do not simply click on the .zip file and then copy and paste all of the contents to the USB thumb drive.

Instead right click on the .zip file and choose extract all, then copy and paste the 1 single folder onto the USB drive. It will now work flawlessly, for some reason the parent file folder is necessary for it to properly work and even if you copy and paste every single file contained within the .zip file it will never work if the files are not contained within the folder EXs14.

I hope my days of troubleshooting to find the solution will save time for others that also buy this Expansion Sound Library.

On my Kronos it worked exactly the other way round (no folder, just the files)-

It works fine in both ways , either copying the whole file (recommended) and opening it via Kronos/Media, nor copying
the extracted file's contents in the root level of your USB stick !
