Replacing the Vacuum tube/bulb

Post by jimmorrison »

Hey all, My vacuum tube is not lighting up anymore, so I have decided to purchase a new one at £13, however is it easy enough to replace the old one?

your help is greatly appreciated

Replacing the Vacuum tube/bulb

Which Extreme do you have - 61/76/88?

Generally speaking, as long as you're comfortable taking apart your keyboard (organizational skills and attention to detail are required), you should be able to access the tube to replace it.

When you say the tube doesn't light up (this is not the blue-ish light that glows around the tube when active), the tube is not actively warming up so you see that there's electricity flowing through it?
