What, if anything, is better about the Pa3x LE vs Pa3xPro?

Post by Hal2001 »

Is there any reason to pick an LE version over the original Pa3xPro unless the LE is just for people who want a "Light" version of the Pa3x, i.e. lighter weight, lighter price and lighter features? Is there anything the LE does better than the Pro?

look at tyros5 its has TFT VGA 7.5 inch LCD,The weight of the 61 note keyboard is just short of 35 lbs , still lighter then pa3x..

Of course, PA3x76 is better than Pa3xLE and LE is around £1,000 cheaper for a reason.

How is the keyboard over the pa3x?
Is it easier to play on LE?

FWIW, my PA3X-76 takes 65 seconds to start up.

With boot times so long even without loading a SET (my BK-9 is 9 seconds!), do you guys tend to use small UPS power strips?

I can only imagine the mayhem on a gig after a brownout or slight power interruption!

BK-9 is not really in the same category - my VR09 take 5 seconds but it isn't loading up samples - my Kronos takes 3 minutes.

If owners find 60-90 seconds too long in the event of a power outage then yes - get a UPS.
I personally find that these boot-up times are never an issue when performing. I rarely have to re-startup my keyboards at a gig/rehearsal/recording.

But everyone has their own situations to consider.

But even if the PA3X isn't loading any samples, it still takes quite a while to boot... Don't get me wrong, I'm not slamming the PA3X (I really like it!), but if a keyboard takes that long to boot (I used to use a K2500S with a glacial 128MB boot load for live gigs!) you can't afford to have the audience sit around for a minute or so of dead time if the power browns out or flickers for just a second...

I live in Florida, the lightning capitol of the US, and have seen power at even the best venues get a bit flaky from time to time. If YOU wouldn't dream of unplugging your arranger in the middle of a gig, don't let the house power do it to you! An arranger draws so little power, the smallest of UPS's will do. 8)

Hi all

Does the Maxx audio make a big difference in a home use setting?

Cheers

For me, YES but it will depend on what you are playing it through.
