I've been trying to work out a way to control the tempest synth with the electribe. the tempest is terrible when it comes to midi, only a select few CCs available for the entire beat. One way around this is to control a parameter on an individual voice using 'midi expression' or 'midi breath', there's also 'midi pitch bend' and 'midi mod wheel'.
Does the ESX have these available? I want to motion seq parameters both on tempest and electribe.
sorry if there's a thread elsewhere for this, had a search but couldn't find one.

I always found it confusing which knob on the esx controlled what on outboard gear but most of the esx's knobs did something, they do transmit. It's best to plug them together & hav a trial & error session... see what does what.
Perhaps someone else can shed further light on this but i do remember controlling a novation a-station from the esx1 & i couldn't always tell what was being effected. With enough time spent i would have sussed it. Best of luck.
E.G - Sometimes the modulation wave shape knob on the tribe would adjust an effect parameter in the a-station or the lfo wave would be adjusted. Sadly i never spent the time to fully find it all out.

thanks for this... i did a trial and error session already with the tempest but i hadn't tried hard enough.
Spent more time, sending out breath control as CC02 and finally worked it out.
*** I had not realised that the knobs only transmitted when on the keyboard parts of the Esx ***
It works very nicely now.
This makes me wish the two keyboard parts could operate on different midi channels.

Are you sure they can't? Check page 89 in here: http://i.korg.com/uploads/Support/ESX1_ ... 920000.pdfvenus3036 wrote: This makes me wish the two keyboard parts could operate on different midi channels.
