Volca bass not holding notes

Hi new to all this and was just wondering why my volca bass isn't holding notes, its does occasionally but lately its not.. I used to be able to press a note and turn the octave knob and go through the octaves, but now i press a note and it goes straight away.. I know its going to be something dead simple so i'm ready for the abuse

Is the Amp EG turned on?

No it wasn't, cheers for reply though.. I'm using reason 7 and i've sussed why its happening, its when i lock it as a midi device to an external midi device for some reason? Anyone know why? I modded it about 2 weeks ago now
