Anyway to trigger external synth's from the M3's sequencer

I am trying to find a way to trigger external synths from the Korg M3's Sequencer mode. (works fine in Prog and Combi)

When in sequencer record mode
I have setup an external synth on midi channel 12, and I would like to be able to play it while recording the midi notes to the internal M3 sequencer.

I can not get the M3 sequencer to send midi data out or thru

How do I setup the M3 sequencer, to send the sequencer data out on different midi channels to external synths and sound modules.

In Sequencer mode on page P3:Track Param ... Have you set the Status to EXT for the track you want to control externally?
