Ram update

Post by jeremykeys »

Seeing as I'm going to be adding a second SSD, in the near future, I'm wondering what the recommended brand of ram to add is?

Should I swap out the old one and put in 2 new ones?

Thanks in advance!

I used the recommended match Corsair

Post by Mk11Audio »

Somewhere on this forum, another user mentioned he bought a pair of matched Corsair 2GB Ram sticks... he even provided the exact requirements needed... something like XMS2 PC2-6400-DDR2 Non-ECC 5 or 6

Did the install myself, rebooted works like a champ... they will also say the motherboard is only capable of running 3GB with the OS... which may be true, but RAM is inexpensive so I'm ok with it... match set was maybe $78.00 out the door at Fry's Electronics... and I have the original 2GB spare here in my hands...

No, wrong format...

The RAM that's in that link will NOT work... completely wrong format, you need 240 pin for sure... I am looking for my receipt to give you a specific example... but I think this is the ones I bought...

Great! Thank you very much! There's nothing worse than buying the wrong thing and having your hardware all in pieces! Now I know what I'm looking for, after Christmas I can get it.
