Recording sound to PC for Triton LE?

Post by LEDC »

Hi! I'm sure this question has been asked a million times before so please don't facepalm too hard . Anyway, I recently picked up a Korg Triton LE, and I'm loving it so far. I have two MIDI cables, one of them is the EMU XMIDI 1X1 and the other one is a cheap £3 one.

My question is, how can I get sound from the synth to the PC, e.g Recording in FL Studio or Audacity. I have no interest in using the keyboard as a controller for VSTs.

The MIDI cable is detected, but I can't seem to record anything from the synth to the PC?

Are there any cables that I need to order like Line In cables to achieve this or something? Thanks!

MIDI is not the same as Audio. Midi is a code that represents what note/duration/velocity etc was pressed. Therefore you cannot record Audio via MIDI. If you use your DAW to record the MIDI, the PC cannot play this as Audio but the DAW can send this back to your Keyboard and the Keyboard will use this information to "play" the notes so you hear the sound that the keyboard is making. To record Audio you need and Audio interface or a soundcard in your PC that you can connect the Audio outputs from your Keyboard to
