MS Sequencer vs DAW (Logic Pro)

Post by captain54 »

New to the forum, new to Korg, and new to the Microstation..

I've always been a Roland guy, had the xp-30 for many years.. I have to say though, the Microstation and Korg is damn impressive..

My question is; is it overall a lot smoother and quicker to work in the a DAW sequencer, like Logic for example? or is it just a matter of getting to learn the sequencer? I find it very clunky initially and not for the faint of heart.. does is hinder or help the creative flow? thanks all captain

New things always have an learning curve its getting used to it, learning to find particular and what not. Eventually the payoff is you're getting to know you're instrument and as you're time spend on it getting familiar so will you're workflow also progress.

First you find out how to make loops and later on complete tracks you will blow it off like Pfff this nothing I can do much greater.

There are lots of youtube MStation user video's and Korg has also tutorial video's available great to start with.

Cheers :)

It seems like there's numerous ways to do things on MS.. right now, flipping thru the numerous menus kind of kills the creative process.. I'm finding that recording combi's, and doctoring them up in the Editor on the computer, then recording to audio tracks in the DAW does not require a whole lot of fiddling.. and this thing is very fiddly
