* * *
Irish Acts:
EXs92 Atmospheric $120

* * *
Kelfar Technologies:
KRS-97 Kelfar Acustica (normally $99.99, introductory price of $79.99)

The introductory price is available through February 28.

* * *
Note: All of new EXs and KRS libraries require KRONOS System Version 2.0.2 or later.

EXs demo versions and authorization codes
As always, you can download and try out all EXs libraries for free. Initially, they will work in demo mode. You'll be able to play, edit, and save Programs, Combis, Wave Sequences, and Songs which use the new samples - but until you purchase an authorization code, their sound will fade out periodically. To purchase an authorization code, go to the online shop at https://shop.korg.com/kronos/SoundLibraries. Once purchased, entering the authorization code into the KRONOS removes the audio limitations of demo mode - no additional downloads required.

Best regards,
KORG

Judging by the lack of response for over four hours that this topic has been posted, I would say the prices are rather high. I am interested in EXs118, Istanbul Strings. But the same demo has been on YouTube since September and most likely could have been purchased directly from the original producer for a lot less:

I realize a LOT of work goes into creating a library, and the Kronos is a relatively expensive board to begin with.

However, the prices for the libraries are a bit out of my pocketbook, I am still debating on whether I will purchase the new Grand Piano, since the existing ones seem to suffice for me.

I would like a rock and roll piano ala Elton or Billy Joel, but I think I can EQ an existing one to fill that need.

This is $79 by Kelfar. Very interested in their use of MOSS and articulation:

Korg Kronos engines were used to create the new sounds. These include:
• CMT (Component Modeling Technology);
• STR-1
• MOD-7
• AL-1
• MS-20EX
• PolsixEX
Additional resources include (Alternate Modulation Source), After Touch, Velocity, Joystick, and Ribbon to emulate the articulation of each modeled instrument found in MOSS (Multi- Oscillator Synthesis System).
You must have the EXs 3 Brass Woodwinds library loaded in order to use the KRS-97 Acustica.

I think you have perfectly summarised what most of us think.

I am listening to the demo now and am impressed with a lot of the sounds.
However on the Dixie demo , what appears to be a tbone or tuba sounds like a kazoo.

yeah, the Dixie stuff/instruments are not of interest.

I really like the articulation on the violin.

Also the Bari Sax is, well, rather, un saxy, to me anyway. I was/am a sax player, so maybe I am too critical.
But most of the sounds are quite usable and I think I will pick up the library.

Between Busch's fantastic programming and my own programming/sampling, I have everything I could ever need.

I'll take it further. For the amount of CONTENT, I think the prices for (Most of) KApro are straight up OUTRAGEOUS. I've already messaged him about it. Got a vague/odd response regarding 2GB of RAM. Hey whatever. Perhaps English isn't his first language? It's cool. Now with that diss, I will say the QUALITY of his stuff is EXCELLENT.

At that point I'd rather buy industry standard libraries and just convert them. More work, but at least it'd be worth it (AND..I CAN TAKE THEM WITH ME!). Being able to plug and play would have been nice though.

Everything is ok but the Istanbul Strings sounds nothing like Istanbul but more
like Viena or Rome or Berlin. Its like me a Turkish guy trying to create some Banjo Music.
And of course, we as third party producers sometimes like to put a guy there
with the name of the Country the music is for...lol...like Ali Bozkurt.
The ones that know what Oriental Arabic/Turkish Strings are they know what
i am talking about. Grrhhh, its nowhere near Turkish Strings.

I must agree, I downloaded Buschs' electric pianos and find them quite usable, and for the price, you cannot beat them.

I think you are the Bill who did some Kurzweil programming? If so I have your rotary/B3 stuff in my Artis.

it's time to adjust these prices relative to $20-$50 iOS apps and massive VST/sample collections available for $400-500. And those licenses are for multiple devices and/or transferable. We all have PCs and ipads, so that is what you are competing with for our GAS dollars.

I think if the sellers halved these prices they would make more profit. Some of these could be more than halved. And everybody would be happier; creators with more cash and users with more sounds.

Maybe they're happy selling twenty copies? I can't imagine what the sales numbers must be at these prices.
