Electribe 2 - Does motion Sequencing send out Midi CC data?

Post by scttcmpbll »

I know the knobs send CC data, but is this data recorded and sent out when using Motion Sequence?

I'm pretty sure I read in the manual somewhere that CCs are only sent out by knobs when not recording motion sequence...

Bummer, that was a nice feature on the ESX

Can anyone else confirm that the new electribes are in fact not able to record and playback midi cc values?

I've had the e2 hooked up to my ipad over USB and MIDIDesigner send it CC messages. It responded to them and recorded them as motion sequences. I'm pretty certain that recorded motion sequences are not transmitted over MIDI, but any knob movements ARE transmitted over MIDI.
If I'm not listening to music, or if I'm not making music, then I'm probably thinking about music.

Volca Sample, FM, Beats, Kick. OP-1, Monologue, Pocket Operators. And an ipad.

Hmm sounds like the e2 responds and records the CC parameters it uses internally, but will not record other CC parameters. And does not output any recorded CC values.

I was looking at this last night. It does not send midi data from motion sequences or from modulation.

I hadn't bothered looking for this before because the main stuff I control is analog so doesn't respond to those messages anyway, and with the digital stuff I just use the internal envelopes and LFOs on each unit, which clock sync to the e2. Now I think about it it does seem like a shame, but it hasn't come up in my workflow.

That's such a letdown. Korg really needs to address this in a firmware update. Big oversight IMO

Do we have an update on this with the new firmware?
