Old sample sets in the new Kronos....
have they given us anyway to use our purchased And authorized sample libraries on a new Kronos? I am slightly interested in purchasing a new one but that could be a deal breaker for me....

Oh no I love it. In love with it... But just kinda like those side panels and if it's more robust now (more road worthy) I may consider making it the center point of my rig at church.... I can definitely see having 2 Kronos, esp if you gig.apex wrote:Oh no I love it. In love with it... I think the sample libs will decrease in price over time. More of them, more competition, etc. so, time is on your side, IMO
I could really care less about the price. I don't think I'd want to re purchase them if they were only $20. If you buy a sample library don't you own it? Why is it fair to tell you that once you install it on one machine that you can't install it on anything else.... I mean not even REMOVING from the initial device and installing it on the new one... So if your Kronos is damaged whatever.... If you get a new machine you lose EVERYTHING you purchased....
That's weird

Many feel the same, are unhappy, 100's of posts about thisapex wrote:I could really care less about the price. I don't think I'd want to re purchase them if they were only $20. Yes I agree it's weird but that is Korg's policy. The libraries themselves have no value to anyone unless they own a Kronos and the amount of people who own a Kronos is quite a bit less than those own a computer that has music software installed and most software allows you of course to transfer to another computer. I don't think Korg will change it's policy on this anytime soon.
Yea I understand them protecting it and it would be far easier to share their sample libraries than it would be to share software on our computers.... But they have to protect it somehow.

Agreed. I posted this before, I suspect korg decided on the single no transfer license approach some yrs ago. And once this is baked into their process there may be no undoing it. The hope as I see it, is lower prices.ahutnick wrote:Yes I agree it's weird but that is Korg's policy. Many things in life are ' unfair ' so I think one can wisely pick their battles with their time/energy

that 88 will be so cool.ahutnick wrote:I agree with you Greg. Developers do have a right to protect the creations. Right now I waiting to hear when my new Kronos 88 will be arriving!
waiting for a new board like this is a great experience in anticipation
do you have a stand and sustain pedal for your 88 ?
I understant but on the other hand Kronos owners are the only market for these libraries.ahutnick wrote:The libraries themselves have no value to anyone unless they own a Kronos and the amount of people who own a Kronos is quite a bit less than those own a computer that has music software installed and most software allows you of course to transfer to another computer.
