syncing a Bliptronic 5000

I know this is old but I have been trying this a couple of times but it doesn't work for me. Here's a mysterious old video of VJ Franz K:

How did he do that???

I noticed that the Bliptronic sends a pulse on every pattern end when not in loop mode. that's a totally different concept than the sync pulses from the monotribe. I also tried changing the tempo using the sync kontrol app on my ipod into the link in input of the bliptronic but no positive results. Does anyone have an idea what's going on in this video?

well I got it working now! I translated the description of the french video where it says that only certain bpms work. so I dialed in 140bpm on the sync kontrol and voila it syncs flawlessly!
