Electribe Sampler Release Date

Hi guys,

I think there is no thread dedicated to the upcoming release date of the electribe sampler. It may be interesting to discusse/speculate about the release date, as I think that most people are more excited about the sampler than about the new electribe.

Korg has been very silent about the sampler's release. The most specific information was JP's post on FB, saying the sample was available in april.

Nevertheless, there are a lot of online music stores, which all display a different release date. Some even say June/July. (Again, it would be interesting to know, where they got those random dates...)

So what is your opinion on the launch of the electribe sampler? When do you think will it be available?

Korg's release/marketing policy is obviously devastating. The new electribe and Korg Volca sample are still not available in europe, only a small batch seems to have arrived. This is very bad, dont know what they are thinking. So the criticism is justified.

Well, I voted April but, Mid March is what Korg has been telling Sweetwater regarding US releases. So Korg has not been totally silent about a release date.

This could be a situation where the March date is a Sweetwater exclusive...who knows.

I understand that Europe is terrible distribution. Maybe 2 poles should have been made. One for US release dates and a separate one for European release dates.

Until my guy at Sweetwater tells me different, March is the Month.

I've Voted July, I don't think I'll be ready for the Sampler before then so if it was to be July IMight get one of the first batch...
Cos who knows when the ssecond batch will hit!

same thing in canada. I'm lucky that i was one of the very first people to reserve it in store before it came... first batch they got mid january was literally 2 units. snatched the first one. and now im selling it lol.

We STILL don't have the volca sample here...

Yep I just talked with Sweetwater today, couple hours ago in fact and Korg sent a listing of new release dates for their upcoming products. Several new items were bumped up on release dates and the ES2 is still listed with the same Mid March timeline.

Olivander12, can you add March or Mid-March to your poll? I voted April but I really want to vote Mid March. Thanks!

So I have emailed my local Korg dealer (Essex in UK). He has told me EMX2 will be available in the next couple of weeks, and ESX2 in June/ July.
I have no idea how reliable their information is.
If it's going to be in a few months I'm not sure I'm too bothered about waiting for it. The sound of a sampler which exports to Ableton pretty much ticked all boxes for me, but it'snow just dragging and becoming less attractive.

We are now at a countdown for the first Projected ES2 release date!

NINE MORE DAYS!!!!!

Sweetwater has been told by Korg March 18th.

But to be fair, Sweetwater was originally told Mid-March to the end of March.

So what Radioactivesandwich was told does make sense.

All in all, it looks like April is the date, and still nothing new from Korg....no manuals, Parameter Guides, Sampling demos...Nothing!!!

if it is released next week, I'll buy it immediately. Here in Japan, we get all korg gear early (ish).

I've been talking to Thomann, Europe's biggest music store. They have sold out the first batch already, when they haven't even got it yet. They estimate the second batch to arrive in July.
