Can Triton Le sounds/combis be loaded into any new Korg?

Post by Mario66 »

Hello all -
I'm new here & "Testing This Forum" looked like a good place to start.
I've been using my Triton Le for many years and it has been a tank (no issues ever knock on wood). I have an opportunity to gig around the country and the keyboard will be provided and I would like to know if I can take my Le combis via smart media (or transferred to whatever media) and load them into newer Korgs. It's probably been address many times but any help is appreciated....

You can only use PCG files (that's the file you store on the card containing programs/combis) on Tritons (not only LE but also others). However, they will not load on Krome, M50, M3, Oasys, Kronos etc. They have different samples, sound engine etc.

Btw, the best thread you can use for such answers is the thread about a specific model (Triton (LE) in your case).

Thank you for your reply.
That makes perfect sense and I probably should have known but I appreciate the clarification.

Actuallty it's also a good thing, because you will find better sounds normally on newer models.
