Kronos Editor, Wave Editor, read insides...
Just curious if anyone has created or planning to create a CUSTOM editor, Wave Editor, and Drum Kit Editor, like John Melas doesn't for Yamaha MOTIF and others boards from Yamaha. His website is http://www.jmelas.gr/motif/es/products.php
Just curious how can we get Korg to make such things. Yes I know they have the EDITOR but what about other things like the wave editor to help us convert directly to Korg's format without having to purchase all these third party tools that half the time doesn't work such as Translator 6. That program is messed up beyond measure. Example: trying to convert one simple patch/SF2 in the favorites windows on the left side does not work 98% of the time so I given up on it.
I know about ESC but that software has no OS X support whatsoever.
How many people feel that Korg should have given us more TOOLS like this or they should have made these tools for use to purchase. I would purchase them if they had them. I know they can create them. Korg needs to make things simpler for us to convert our own custom patches without having to use third part converters, then copying these patches onto a stick, then plugging in the stick just to copy them to the hard drive. It would be just easier if Korg had a custom PATCH editor, not the editor they have now but a sample patch editor that would convert and upload the converted patch samples straight to the HDD on the Korg through the connect USB.
Korg needs to get better at really support the Kronos besides just fixing bugs or selling all these great samples. Help us out here Korg. If you did this you would in fact make a lot of money because I don't know if other manufactures hav editors like I am speaking about.
What do you all think?

Well for starters it would be nice if the Kronos editor was updated so that it would work properly with the new OS. Being that single programs in the Kronos have a two oscillator limit would probably cause problems if you are trying to translate sounds that have more than 2 layers. Yes it would be nice to see those things you mentioned but I don't know if that will ever happen

If it's in SF2 format, try loading it directly on the KRONOS.rpowell01 wrote: Example: trying to convert one simple patch/SF2 in the favorites windows on the left side does not work 98% of the time so I given up on it.

Your missing my point here. Lets say I have a set of wave files I want to use. Instead of having to purchase Translator 6 like I did some time ago, how come Korg just doesn't implement in the Kronos Editor, a real editor to be able to import samples from the editor and the sounds will then be transferred to the Kronos. Why make it hard for the users is my opinion. Yes Korg releases the best ever keyboard and sampler hardware ever but the Editor lacks big time. What you create hardware that is top-dog please create a FULL EDITOR that also does everything the board does.danatkorg wrote:If it's in SF2 format, try loading it directly on the KRONOS.rpowell01 wrote: Example: trying to convert one simple patch/SF2 in the favorites windows on the left side does not work 98% of the time so I given up on it.
I am 47 years old. I have spine issues from C2 down to S1. I was injured in the Army 19 years ago and I am retired because of the injury. My eyes are now going bad because of the dangerous medications I take which is NOT a choice of mine.
I cannot sit here and look at the kronos screen for hours creating new patches from samples. I just can't do it. Korg doesn't give us an option to plug in a monitor which is something that I would be happy with, but as of right now its not possible.
So, we need a FULL editor and soft sampling tools to help us convert our stuff and to transfer to the Kronos.
I love the Kronos, more than any board I have ever own and trust me I have own at least 6 in the past 19 years.
It can be done and I would pay for these tools from Korg if they would create them. This is one place they lack, software.

Actually, I was directly responding to a specific problem you had, and suggesting a method that might work better. It sounds like it would have worked much better if you had just loaded it directly on the KRONOS.rpowell01 wrote:Your missing my point here.danatkorg wrote:If it's in SF2 format, try loading it directly on the KRONOS.rpowell01 wrote: Example: trying to convert one simple patch/SF2 in the favorites windows on the left side does not work 98% of the time so I given up on it.
You can load wave files directly, too.rpowell01 wrote:Lets say I have a set of wave files I want to use.
I'm sorry that you're unsatisfied with the editor. At the moment, Korg has no plans to add any sample-related capabilities to the editor.
I have used Translator successfully on various occasions, though it's sometimes necessary to do additional editing on the KRONOS.

Well said, the request for an updated 64 bit editor is the minimum Korg should offer.ahutnick wrote:Well for starters it would be nice if the Kronos editor was updated so that it would work properly with the new OS. There are also many people with disabilities who are struggling to cope with the Kronos without a 64 bit vst editor, i can no longer use the Kronos without this support.
All other major keyboard manufacturers support this view, why are Korg so reticent and unhelpful?
I recently contacted Korg directly on this matter and their reply was as follows:
"The KRONOS software editor is currently only available as a 32-bit piece of software and unfortunately we cannot confirm whether this might change in the near future"
I don’t think it was unreasonable of me to expect ongoing support from Korg with regards an editor when i purchased the Kronos.
As a consequence i am left with a keyboard that i cannot use.
This is completely unfair and unreasonable stance by Korg.
I am totally frustrated with Korg, i have purchased most of korgs synths over the last twenty five years but unless some effort is made to support me and other disabled users i will not be buying another.

While like I had mentioned I would like to see an update to the editor so that it works properly and of course 64 bit would be nice the bottom line to me is I am really happy with my Kronos 2. I do have Midiquest Pro 11 which has the full Kronos editor so I hope for an update in the near future if possible.
