Sequencer - sending all 8 tracks at once to a DAW via midi?

Post by whinylittlerunt »

This is for a T3 but I think it's the exact same instrument in that regard...

I've been trying to "archive" some 25 year old sequences done on a T3 by recording the MIDI data into my DAW (Cubase or Logic). I'm pretty MIDI-stupid but I know enough to get how the data is exchanged, etc. What I thought I could easily do was send all 8 sequencer tracks to Cubase via MIDI on separate channels, 1-8, create 8 MIDI tracks in Cubase, 1-8, record-enable them all, press record in Cubase and play on the T3 and....

Doesn't work.

No matter how the channels are assigned or separated, the sequence plays garbled and all mixed together and same happens to the data; it hits the tracks with the same data for all. If I record one single track set to "any" channel, it will work and transmit the entire thing but all as one piece and that defeats the purpose of what I'm looking to do.

If anyone has any ideas, I've basically run out...
