SP170S + pedal DS1H = good couple ?

Is it worth to buy this rather expensive pedal ?
Is it really giving the sound of a "half pedal".

I suppose you can play a slow classic pianopart while holding this pedal ?
Is it really the sound between no pedal and the small PS3-pedal.



Just received the SP270s, but a little disappointed about the long pedal sustain. I hope to play a slow piece of music without moving my foot to much ... (I'm a real beginner)
