Trinity Plus

Post by Matt Yanzen »

Hi !
Just bought a decent Trinity Plus w/ the Solo Board installed *but* the previous owner made a huge mess of the original combi's & prog's...
So I'm about to put the originals back (dl'd the two disks from Korg.com)...
1 question: the 1st disk contains the PRELOAD1.PCG (all the data including Bank S are in there) but the 2nd disk contains GENERAL, PRODUCER & SOLO.PGG's.. do I have to load them as well into the Trinity (or are they only useful when loading midi files ???) ?
Many thx,
Cheers,
Matt.

Hi!

You only need to load "PRELOAD.PCG" and "SOLO.PCG" (for the Solo board sound banks). The other PCGs replace the preload data and are General MIDI compatible soundset (GENERAL) and a "producer" set (almost the same as "Preload", but in a different order).

Guess I'll have to buy a USB Floppy disk unit, as Trinitron doesn't seem to work on my machine... keep getting the 'No Response From The Trinity' msg, after it looks like something's happening (transferring midi progress bar moves almost to the end)...
Tried as good as anything....
The Trinity works perfectly as midi controller w/ VST's, so I guess Trinitro doesn't do too well w/ my 64bit Win7 OS ?

What is your MIDI interface? Some cheap USB to MIDI cables are not good for system exclusive communications.

I have 2:

-M-Audio Audiophile 24/96 INSIDE the PC
-Tascam 2x2, USB connection...
They're *not* both connected at the same time...
I've been using a couple of hq Midi cables for years without any probs..
Had a Karma once, and w/ the dedicated software there never was a single prob w/ sending to & fro !

I guess Trinitro is the troublemaker here.... did the loopback test w/ midi-ox & that turned out 100% OK...

I tried sending over the programs 1 by 1... the 1st one of Bank A went succesful ! Then when trying the 2nd, I got an EOX expected blahblah msg on the Trinity, which completely froze after that. Off/On and the complete bank was empty 'cept for the 1st prog ?!

I was able to put everything back w/ the floppy the prev user made of the current state...

Weird.... usb floppy drive & disks are underway ($25)... ;)

Thx for your help !!!

Matt.
