how to export smf file and create song in daw
I created an smf file from the kross which individually makes each track a midi file that i can drop into cubase. Im cubase i have each instrument seperate and i only can hear sound when i plug in my headphones into the kross and i have the kross hooked up to my cpu with a usb and have dl the korg plug in editor. Im trying to get sound out of my interface so i can export the song as wav. All i want to do is take 16 tracks that recorded and turn it into a song. Does anyone know how to do this. Ive been trying to figure this out for a month

It seems like you've misunderstood a few things, so I'll explain:
The MIDI files in Cubase are just a set of instructions, which can either control virtual instruments (plugins), or external synthesisers (such as your Kross).
The USB connection between the Kross and your PC can only send MIDI information, NOT audio... and it seems like currently you have Cubase set to send the MIDI information externally via the USB connection to your Kross, where it is then played by the Kross - that's why you only hear it in the headphones.
If you then want to record this audio back into Cubase, you'll need to connect the main left+right outputs at the back of your Kross to the audio interface with 1/4" jack cables, and record into a new audio track in Cubase. However, that's quite a complicated way of doing it, and it would be much simpler to just hit play on the Kross and allow the Kross to do all of the MIDI playback, which you can record over two 1/4" jack cables into your interface; that would mean you don't need to connect over USB at all.
