Mini Kaoss Pad 2 Not Storing Favorite Presets

Hi everyone!
according to the manual:
"To store a favorite, make sure that the desired program is
selected, and then hold down the center, middle, or right of
the VALUE slider for a while. The program will be stored as
Favorite 1, 2, or 3 respectively"

This method doesn't seem to work, does anyone know if there's something missing in the procedure described in the manual?
