Electribe2 Tips & Tricks Video

Post by Tarekith »

https://youtu.be/442fqsHebOw

A quick video showing some tips and tricks for the Korg electribe2. I recommend watching it in HD in order to see the display screen values better.

Some of these are briefly (or poorly) mentioned in the manual, and some were discovered by other users here on the Korg forums or the electribe Facebook group. I'm not claiming to have created these all, just demonstrating them so others can learn some new techniques for studio and live use. While I'm using the synth version, I'd imagine these all apply to the sampler version as well.

Enjoy!

Dude, thanks for the video. Learned 2 new things thanks to this:

1. using shift and the back arrow to delete a pattern name.

2. great explanation of step jump recording; how it's used and how to use it.

Didnt know Shift and the back arrow to delete name either. That will be helpful to erase "Init Pattern" :)
Btw. is there a way to set certain notes and see what notes have been input, without turning wheels in Step Edit mode? On the EMX I was able to play set it with the keyboard in Step Edit mode.

I'm not sure to be honest, maybe you can do it via a MIDI keyboard?

As for seeing what notes are set, if you see the note names in the display, I guess that's all that has been set?

Lets say I know I want to record note D#4 for a certain step and my keyboard is in F# scale.
The only option I know works is to sequence that step, go to Step Edit menu and turn the wheel until D#4. But thats lavish. On the EMX I was atleast able switch to keyboard mode in step edit and enter the note that way.

I hoped there was an easier way. Like using the Step Jump for one step, but then there's no keyboard. (Hooking up my EMX and use midi is also lavish and I don't see what note I play because of different scales)

I'm very much a visual learner, no matter how many times I read something until I see it, it just doesn't sink in.

The Step Jump trick totally makes sense now, cheers for the vid matey!

I haven't tried this, but is possible to use the Kaoss pad to input the note?

Do you mean with previous electribe series we can directly add notes from a MIDI keyboard for each selected step in stepedit mode ??
OMG I want that on e2/es2!!!

It might work on the E2, has anyone tried?

if that's what I think, I tried (with a MIDI keyboard controller)... but nothing happens...
(and the "keyboard mode" is simply not accessible from the "stepedit mode")

I just tried it, seemed to work fine from either an external keyboard or from the Kaoss pad.
