What the codes by end of piano program names mean?
Hi All,
I was just trying to discover what are the codes to by the end of the piano name programs. Like German D2. What the D and 2 stands for?
I could find in another post that the s stands for stretched tuning.
I did RTFM before posting but could not find it in the parameter guide.
Thanks!

code letters at the end of reed and brass programs
While on this subject, any idea what the code letters are at the end of some reed and brass programs? Like "JM".[/u]

Codes
I would guess the same thing. Someone in a YouTube somewhere said that these codes are there because of copyright and trademark issues - if so, Korg might not have permission to use the full real names. Thus, "Berlin" rather than "bluthner" for example.Bald Eagle wrote:Probably the piano model. German D2 could be Steinway D-274. Just guessing here.
Not sure about horns, etc.

They have the Golden Arches <–> I have the Golden Arcs
They have the Big Mac <–> I have the Big Mick.

Sweet Dreams
Good ear!
I didn't notice the wrong notes, but my piano instructor heard them right away.

Re: Codes
Did the Berlin piano not stand for a Bechstein D piano, perhaps a D-282?Ottawa58 wrote:I would guess the same thing. I would guess the German-D stands for a Steinway D-2xx, could be the D-274, and the Japanese stands for a Yamaha-C7 concert grand, where the Austrian piano is a sampled Bosendorfer Model 290

You will see them with a lot of organ patches too. KM means Kieth Emerson for example.
If music is the food of love, play on and play loud!
