Well......one's available to purchase, the other is not.

There's a good starting point.

That would be very SAD if we cathegorize synths like that, on their
availability...anyways KURZ was always THE king.

I don't agree with that at all.

How can Kurzweil be "the king" if hardly anyone knows about them. Everyone knows about the Triton, Motif, Fantom etc - even people who are not into music, because you always see them on stage and at concerts.

Right now I would say Kurzweil is probably not even in the hardware top 5: 1) Yamaha, 2) Korg, 3) Roland, 4) Clavia, 5) Akai.

Hopefully the PC3 will make Kurzweil competitive again, but I need to know more about it before I give up my M3 for one. (Kurzweil have the worst marketing imaginable)

Yes that's very true.
But Kurzweil is of a very high quality sounds, most better than KORG, Roland, Yamaha

In fact, there are Kurzweils used mostly in live band.. where as KORG Trinity, triton in the studio!

I respect Kurzweil as much as I respected Ensoniq, because they don't make Auto-Accompaniment keyboards.

Maybe Kurzweil has bad marketing, bad sequencer, bad user interface, but they have some of the best sounds
World needs Nikola Tesla’s technologies

When probably most of the people know for a FACT that KURZ was and is
the KING of all, and people not having it is only 2 reasons:
1. Is a little more complicated (i have KURZ and i know for a FACT)
2. K2661 is still more money then the M3.
Those are the only 2 reasons.
As for you TYRONEDIGGS, if you ever heard of JORDAN RUDDESS, go
find out if he ever used any KORG on his shows or whatever.
Forget the YOU TUBE videos of playing a KORG TEX88, i am talking
about his REAL and SERIOUS stuff.

Grettings, no hard feelings and whatever i said upthere i meant it, even
if it hurts your feelings, sometimes we need to be real.

And i i didnt pay attention to this, this is the worst of all, this is stupid.
I dont know how can people claim and say things without thinking.
I see it as disrespectfull even to some of US the musicians in here.
If i agree with it, or accept it that makes me stupid, i would feel stupid.
Sorry Guys but there has to be a limit, freedom of speach yes but not
freedom of stupidity.

1.Kurzweil, 2.Roland, 3. Yamaha, 4. Akai and 5 Clavia.
...awww i forgot KORG...:D :D :D
and that is truly my personal opinion, thats how i see it and like it.
But does it make me right??? NOPE! When i turn to FACTS then i am
WRONG as HELL!

Two things :

1) Take it easy with the "stupid" remarks, this gentleman may not have had the good fortune to get his hands/ears on a Kurz. Feel free to express your disagreement, but don't flame. You know all this, you're a moderator on your own forum. Enough already with the New York attitude !

2) I own a K2661 8) Despite the underlying architecture being a little dated, it is still a fantastic sounding instrument and in some ways is better than the Japanese ROMplers. I bought a heavily discounted K2661 when Kurz were having problems to cover me during the year my Oasys didn't work. Even though my Oasys is now fixed and fully operational I didn't sell my K2661 yet, because it has become one of my favourite synths for sound design and has some great sounds already on it. I can program up a sound on the K2661 really quickly, because the user interface despite not having a touch screen works fantastically well. I was really surprised by that myself. I would definitely recommend checking out a Kurz (if you can find one!) and seeing if it works for you.

Lighten-up Nedim

tyronediggs, there is a lot you need to learn before making statements like that. I am a guitar player and have been playing for almost 35yr. Half of that time I thought there were only two Guitar companies, Fender and Gibson Man was I wrong  That comes from watching too much TV. I met a lot of the guys in my day. Most Played certain guitars because they were Free to them, as long as they played them on stage, but they had an arsenal of guitars they preferred in thier collection that I had never heard of.
