Agreed... there's a lot to be said for the *concept*, but the execution seems kinda hit or miss. An onboard speaker may seem like a good idea, but the practical frequency response from such a little bugger is definitely gonna neuter the sound engine.
I like the loop/overdub idea, but man, it was painful watching the demo dude try to get to the record button on time; it's the sort of feature that cries out for footswitch actuation. Onboard effects are always a good thing, and Korg seems to have a pretty firm grip on how to implement reasonable sounding fx with minimal tweezing required. That said, FX are meant to be tweezed real time, and the minimal UI ain't gonna make that easy.
Being able to tap tempo the loops and fx woulda been useful.
The clip on sensor is pretty brilliant; strapping the whole damned instrument to your leg, not so much.
Good thing there's practically unlimited depth to the WD-X... it really helps suppress G.A.S.
Now, the Monotribe on the other hand... _________________ Make. Write. Play drums |

That is cool but I won't buy it. I would think they would have at least made the loop button larger to hit more effectively. I like the second input which is sort of like linking WD's together like I asked for last year. I would love a function for loop and linking on the next wave drum. Still it is a cool little instrument but I will hold out for the next wavedrum, I just don't like the look of the oriental although I would love the extra algorithms. |

Looks a bit like a toy , very small for me...
Its more like a finger drum
The microfone clip one more time brings up the idea of
drilling a hole into the WD and connect an external mike.
I wonder what the specifications of the Korg mike are.-
A "normal" mike ? |

The more I think of it the more I would love a Wavedrum with multiple external inputs like the one extra input mic the mini uses! |
