Sort of - once you have made (and Saved!) a Combi out of putting 2 Progams in a layer or a split, you can add up to six OTHER Parts, and then re-edit the key ranges, transpositions, velocity layers and other parameters, and save THAT as another (or the same) Combi.

If you want to take 2 different Combi's and combine them as a split or layer, I don't think you can do that easily: but yes, you can do it by writing down every parameter that you want to preserve in the 2nd Combi, and then turning on 2 new Parts in the FIRST Combi, (remember, you have to first switch them On and then change their Midi Channel, 7 pages below that, so that they sound from the keyboard...) and apply those written down parameters to the 2 new (3rd and 4th) Parts.

What that doesn't clear up, at least in my mind, is how SW1 and SW2, and the iFX respond to such manipulations Laughing Question Shocked

...too complicated....

The steps are (in simpler form)

Find a blank or un-useful combo location to write over (that combo will be lost)

Copy split number 1 to new combo location. No other work needed.

Copy voices of split 2 to the next two tracks in the destination combi. You will also need to copy and re-route Insert Effects for these voices unless they can use the effects of voice 1+2 (they'd still have to be connected via routing but you wouldn't need to copy any additional IFX.

Reset the voice ranges of each pair of combo voices - left split/right split.

- - - - - - - - - -

You'll want to read up on the copy functions, basic IFX functions, and key range functions - the bolded words aught to be headings under the table of contents and searchable keywords if you have a .pdf version of the manual.

BTW: This process, once you get the hang of it, can be done in under 4 minutes start to finish.

i got it the simple way..

just make a sample combi.. then add all the instruments you needed.. then go to "c -zone" and assign the range for the instruments you want to split.

example: timbre 1 and 2 is assign to key c1 to c3 and timbre 4 to 5 is assigned to key c2 to c4.
