|
|
Hi,
I am considering buying a Krome, i have also tried the M50 and the M3
and many presets that i really liked in those two are not in the Krome.
i have read about the possibility to import and load these sounds in a
pcg format into the Krome.
if anybody is familliar with this procedure, any information would be much
appreciated.
ps: on this page, there is a producer pcg file which seems to contain
all the factory sounds of the M3 ?
i haven't been able to find the same for the M50 .
http://www.korg.co.uk/support/downloads/m3_dl.php
Thanks in advance. |

Afaik it is not possible to load a Krome file or Kross file into another workstation like M3 etc. They have different engines.
There are only a few exceptions, like Oasys PCG files can be read in a Kronos (they share partly the same engines). _________________

Since it appears to be possible, is there a programm that allows to
choose some favourite sounds in a pcg file and erase all the others,
in other words to create a personnal user bank ?
Thanks |

With PCG Tools you cannot convert sounds from M3/M50 to Krome, however you can easily change (remove), moving, copying/pasting sounds inside a PCG file or from one PCG file to another as long as they are from the same type.
It works both with M3, M50 and Krome files (and lots of others). _________________

I'm selling my Krome, used it for a few days only. It's like brand new. Have had it for a couple of months, still under manufacturers warranty. Let me know if you're interested. |

Wow... didn't even give it much of a chance there!

Don't get me wrong, this board is a beast! Hadn't done enough research before buying. Turns out my requirements were really different. I'm going for the PA900, better suited for my kind of gigs. for the studio, Krome is king! |

Dear Sirs,
I tried to load the pcg of m3 expanded (about 19 mb file) which is available in some website, its loaded in the krome 61 keys, but the problem is that it will not load all the instruments/files/tones, as the krome have few banks compared with m3, also the drum kits also loaded few and are not in good sound. The tones/programe/comb are large in level/volume.
Best regards,

The Krome parameter guide on page 369 covers this specific topic. I would advise downloading the PDF of that for reference. Basically, the Krome will load and convert on the fly m50 formatted PCG files and SNG files, but not m3 format PCG files. Most elements are converted, but their are certain features present on the m50 that the Krome does not have, and they won't be converted. There is also the matter of different multi samples, which could enter into it. Also it doesn't work in reverse....the m50 cannot open Krome PCG files. etc. _________________ Korg: Triton Classic Pro, Nautilus 61

Yup - after reading the manual, I downloaded a bunch of M50 PCG files, and the Krome opened them with no problem.
A few of the sounds came out weird - it sounds like some of the samples on the Krome are different to the M50. |
