This may sound like a newbie question, but I've never used an Editor before on any keyboard. Is it possible for the Kross to pick up a virus from my computer?
There's no evidence that this has happened, I'm asking because I'm paranoid. When it comes to computers I actively cultivate my own paranoia just to be safe.

Technically I've already exposed the Kross to this risk by loading WAV files from the laptop...

unless it's a virus created to specifically target the kross.

unlike regular pc, the kross recognizes far fewer instructions, with very limited read-write access locations.

Probably the only reason how to get a virus in a synth is via an update, and since updates normally come directly from Korg the chance is low.

There are many reasons why virus makers do not spend time like:
- it does not have normally an internet connection, so sending information is not easily possible unless with manual interaction by the user
- there are no executables to 'hack' except via the updating, the user cannot run executables by hand, not even other files that could be hacked
- there is for hackers or other people normally not much interesting information to be hacked (maybe for other musicians)
- it takes too much time to make a virus, so those few people (relatively) who have a synth it is not worthwhile for.
- there are no passwords to be retrieved, bank accounts to be hacked etc.

Thanks. I get understandably nervous when I connect anything to an online computer.
