|
|
I format my USB stick in FAT32 on both windows and mac. Tried on 5 different sticks. Tried inserting them on both my KRONOS 1 & 2, both with audio files and empty sticks also.
RESULTS: KRONOS freezes when I (in Disk Mode) choose the usb hard drive.
When unplugging I can again use KRONOS as usual. Tried also to booth up with the USB sticks inserted. Same results.
KRONOS 1 is using 3.0.2 firmware
KRONOS 2 is using 3.0.4 firmware
Can anyone explain what I can do to make things work again?
I need desperately to transfer my KRONOS 1 og KRONOS 2...
Ronnie. |

Does your Kronos freeze only when you want to switch to your USB on disk mode or does it freeze as soon as it turns on. _________________ Korg Kronos 2,Korg Oasys 76, Korg 01W/fd, Korg im1 ipad, Korg Triton Extreme, Korg Triton Studio, Korg M3, Roland Integra 7, Yamaha Montage 7, Roland Fantom 6, Korg Nautilus, Korg PA4X, Korg Kross 2 |

I have experienced this myself.
Toshiba USB 16 GB stick in FAT 32 format uploading sample sounds with nothing else on the stick.
Very slow and laboured download page but returns to normal when USB removed? |

Kronos does accept the usb stick, as I just upgraded my Kronos 2 firmware to 3.1.2.
But the result is still the same. When go to Disk and choose "Drive select", and pick usb stick, Kronos freezes until I remove the stick again... |

Are both Ks Kronos 2's? You are correct the newest OS is 3.1.2. What version is your current Sub-System? I think the newest is v1.08. _________________ Kronos2-61..(2) Triton Classic, Nord Stage 2, Previously owned lots of other gear dating back to the 70’s. |

I have funny business on my USB port too. One of the ports hates to read one of my USB sticks. I usually get it to read only in one of the ports and only after a bit of removing, inserting and waiting. The second USB stick almost always works well. So i have a hard time figuring if it is the particular USB stick or the USB port. But last time i packed up my Kronos for a week and then set it back up, the issue never showed itself before i packed it up again a week later. Will see what happens next time after being packed away for over 4 months. The USB sticks work fine on the computer.
Not encouraging to hear this happening. Maybe Korg wants a good reason for us to be fustrated enough to buy the next model in hopes of finally being done with the glitches?
I always format my USB sticks using Kronos when i want them formatted for kronos use. |

I have both Korg Kronos 1 & 2.
And that's where things get odd, because I experience the same fault on both Kronos.... With 5 different USB sticks.
I simply don't get it?
My next move will try to connect an external harddrive with its own power supply. |

@19naia
The problem is, that I can't even get to choose the usb drive in Kronos, before Kronos freezes.
So formatting the usb drive in Kronos is not an option...
And yesterday it all worked fine. |

sorry. So effectively try an external drive (even without power supply) for example some 500giga and even some 1 tera don't need external power to be connected and recognized by the kronos. I use them _________________ trees are going fast.

I had a problem like this in the past i noticed that my PC and everything read it without any problems but my Kronos would freeze when trying the problem was not the usb i fixed the issue by making sure all my audio files or wav files did not have any symbols in the name so if your files have any symbols !@#$%^ etc... rename your audio file on your pc then insert back in all should work. _________________ Korg Kronos 2,Korg Oasys 76, Korg 01W/fd, Korg im1 ipad, Korg Triton Extreme, Korg Triton Studio, Korg M3, Roland Integra 7, Yamaha Montage 7, Roland Fantom 6, Korg Nautilus, Korg PA4X, Korg Kross 2 |

This just happened to me suddenly with the same USB stick I've been using for about a year. It freezes both of my original Kronos 61s consistently. I ended up getting a new USB stick. _________________ Korg Kronos 61 (2); Kurzweil PC4; Casio Privia PX-350m; Macbook Pro |
