I've ordered a replacement battery as the low voltage message has popped up. Replacing it is in the latest manual but:-
(1) Should the unit be switched off when replacing? I presume 'yes'
(2)What is the reason for re-setting the clock afterwards. I presume to show you when it was last put in? Mine says '2003'

1.Always switch it off whilst working under the hood, you risk damaging things with it on if you accidentally touch something and even more so giving yourself a nasty Electric Shock in the process.
2. Internal Clock/Date/Time it is simply just for date/timestamping of your files that you save on the Hard drive, the time is nothing to do with when the battery was put in or fitted.
You can set the date/Time on the Korg to anything anyway so its pretty irrelevant except for stamping of files, when the internal battery dies the internal clock normally will revert back to a factory set time/Date,like in this case 2003,the battery as well as saving internal memory/Sounds also acts like a watch,if the battery dies the clock will not keep current Date/Time when switched off.
You don't have to reset the Clock or have the date/time set to current day/time but its always wise to reset it after fitting a new battery so any new files will have the correct date/Time on them so that if you need to look for a particular file on the Hard drive later down the line having a date stamped with it can be a lifesaver,it can also help prove you created a certain song at a given date if there was ever a dispute over copyright if you time stamp things.
