Nope, that's not true... Maybe you're referring to the fact, that newer units ship with a 1 GB SD card instead of a 256 MB one. It's an internal card containing the operating system and basic patches/samples.

RAM has never gone above 256 MB.

What's interesting anyway: Is it really ONLY the Atom? I can't imagine that! Even without "Windows" overhead, it needs to run some operating system, receive touch info and put out the graphics! Is it possible that it additionally processes up to 16 (!) synths of which nine can be completely ...

Maybe it's this one: Go to GLOBAL mode, hit PAGE SELECT button, then MIDI (on the screen) and see, if LOCAL is set to OFF. Turn it on and try playing again. Don't forget to save the Global parameters. Otherwise, Local might be off again the next time.

Good luck.

Well, it definitely is NOT a known bug, since it works for me and many others without problems (Leopard and Snow Leopard). So it must be something with your setup or your settings. Please note that there are two Library folders: One for the user, and a global one. Apart from that, depending on the ...

One of the huge downsides for me is that the M3 is definitely NOT a MIDI interface! While many other Korg products can be used in that fashion, the M3 can't, which I really don't understand! VERY many devices on the market (Roland, Yamaha, Access, most master and controller keyboards etc.) can do it ...

IMHO, the M3 is great for many styles, including dance styles. However, this applies to the *sounds*, mainly. Karma is neither an "auto accompaniment" nor a "hit creator". It inspires, brings you on track, gives you ideas. But in the end, there's still a difference between the M3's drum patterns and ...

Actually, that's what I'm doing! However, I need the editor to be present, even if I hardly ever use it: It recalls the M3's most recent settings that are needed for the project to play correctly. I don't want to do that via program changes or anything. Strange that your default is "INT". That would ...

Hi Lou, thanks for the concern, but no - I checked all that! It happens in EVERY project I load that has the editor plug-in in it. It happens on EVERY track, whichever is selected after loading the project. But ONLY on the selected track, never on any other (that might have been affected last time ...

Hi there, well, I also opened a thread on this once and nobody ever would help me... Strange, because this problem should arise for EVERYBODY who uses the editor plug-in in their DAW *or* who switches to the SEQ mode of the M3 manually when no song is loaded. So after a lot of hassle because of this ...

Yeah? So?

Matter of taste, I guess... For me, the M3's keybed is one of the best around (synth action), personally, I never had any better ones so far. The sounds are great, too, but I never compared it to its predecessors.

This is INCREDIBLE! Very impressive, man! How much did this cost you? Do you have to be an engineer for this or can it be easily constructed from stock components?

Hi there, thanks for the reply... I did so, but it doesn't really change anything: This file doesn't autoload when I turn on the M3. But when I turn it on, the M3 loads *something* (red bar taking ages to complete plus the EX-samples). I'd like my "New Setup" to be this something. Can that be done ...

Changing Sequencer Autoload Song S000

Hi everybody, one big problem nags me from the very beginning: I usually work in a software sequencer environment (Logic with an autoload project and pre-inserted M3 plug-in). Every time I start Logic and load a project with the M3 plug-in, it quickly changes through all of the M3's modes and ...

Hi Rudo, IMHO, all the recent workstations of all the manufacturers are quite capable of your task, be it Yamaha's Motif XS, Rolands Fantom G (which has much more FX power now), Kurzweil (I always found those a bit pricey) and Korg's M3 or M50. I think it's just a matter of taste: 1) Which sound ...

Indeed, but mixing inside the M3 to a level that can compete with Logic and other DAWs and THEN put it out in stereo, is just not very sensible IMHO. If you get only single sounds or combis from the M3, that seems to be okayish, but as soon as you're up for more, it becomes tiresome. If at least the ...
