Step by Step Oasys

I'm having huge fun with my new Oasys 76. Mind you, learning all
that complexity is not easy. I've always found thats its best in that
case, to reduce things into many smaller simpler steps.

I can spend ages reading the manuals, but what would help is for
one of the experts to write some simple step by step instructions,
a bit like "Oasys for dummies"

The instructions from the Karma website helped enormously in
converting my first little composition into a track on a cd. Great!

Now I'm on my next composition, with the first track recorded
in seq mode. I'd like to save that, so that I can switch off the
machine, then have it ready to go, to continue work/play on
that song, the next day. Whats the best way to go about it?
Any tips?

Remember I'm doing this for pleasure, not money, so am
not a professional, so simple step by step instructions would
be great!

To save:

Press the DISK button.

Press the SAVE tab (near bottom left)

On the upper right, it should also say, SAVE. Press that dropdown menu.

Select SAVE SEQ

Give it a name, when the Text box comes up.

Recommended:

Go through the same steps and SAVE PCG (which would be your programs). Give it the same name as your song (SEQ). I usually save mine to an external drive, as well. Saving programs will insure that you have the right sounds that go with your song.

Yep - and on the next day you will have to do the same thing on the "LOAD" page in order to have your saved song back in the sequencer. Select the file and press the load-button - works similar as a computer.

Congrats on u 76 O! its quite the mouth full to learn with no pre knowledge. i had the Karma so when i got my O i had a good idea on what to do. id gladly help u wit any Q's u got so either PM me or post it here ya?

Step-by-step instructions for saving Songs are included under "Saving your song" in the Operation Guide, and under the Save Seq menu command in the Parameter Guide. If you have time, please let me know what was unclear about these instructions.

Dan, its a while ago now, so I'd have to try and retrace what I did,
but it was something simple, like the save SEQ. Don't forget, us
newbies, certainly in my case, can be overwhelmed by the sheer
amount of stuff to learn, so make simple mistakes, until we are
more familiar with everything.

I actually spent heaps of time trying to work it out, before posting.
But yes I am human, I make mistakes

Thats why I like the concept of some step by step dvds, for us
newbies, people can buy them or not. Most of us would try to
do similar things with our Oasys, once we've got to play with it.

I mentioned it to somebody else, the guy who sold me the machine
actually, and he's keen to get some dvd turtorials as well, if they
become available. It should make his job of selling more machines
a great deal easier.
