If I have a OASYS do I still need Triton and Trinity ?
With triton and Trinity I used these sounds alot:
"Breathy Bells", "90s Piano", "Xylospectrum"
does OASYS have them? I looked in oasys virtual GUI, and I an't see any of them

I'm sure you could work up some programs that would approximate those sounds and even make them more interesting. The Oasys is an extremely flexible instrument. If your programming skills are lacking, then I would "sample" the sounds into the Oasys. Personally, I still have my Trinity, but rarely use it. The Oasys seems to have more than I need for a musical pallette.

Its perfectly feasible to get close to those Triton programs on the Oasys with a little common sense,I've copied over some of my Triton programs I made myself and they translate well, not replicas but at least emulations of them.
the basic Parameters are all but the same principle,so its straight forward copying over the Settings,of a Triton program to Oasys settings,(although it takes time)and the effects are almost identical in most cases, just the PCM data isn't exact, but there are plenty of sound alikes,if not shared PCM in some cases,so you can get at least near to the sound.
I did this with the Trinity/Triton too,but due to the Filter discrepancies on the Triton not all the sounds turned out as good.I still have both my Trinity and Triton,as much as I would like to copy or clone those sounds its just not possible,in a small handful of cases,I don't really use the Trinity that much these days, but it has a few sounds which are not replicable on Triton and for that reason I kept the Trinity, and the same goes for the Triton/Oasys comparison.I wonder if one day they will have a Trinity engine for the Oasys??
I was kind of hoping that I could replicate all my Triton sounds on the Oasys,(not to do away with the Triton, but to add some more combis/Progs to the Oasys)I've already made some of the combis on the Oasys I created on the Triton, and used the stock program sounds in the Oasys that were similar to some of the Triton Programs which made up the original combis as well as some of my own edited programs from Triton
Although it won't fully replace the Triton, copying over those combis and there effects and all other settings(where applicable) and adding some Karma grooves to combis where in the Triton they used Arps is great fun,and gives new dimension to the combi sounds.
