I know you Korg R&D's are working but I was wondering about the next update or expansions.

Well we know they wont say anything so why dont we just play 'guess what it is, or what you would like it to be within reason - what could they realistically develop within 6 to 8 months?
For me -
If EXs - I'd like to see Strings or Superior Vocals
If EXi - mmm dont know for this one lol ( can i have a V-synth GTX lol )
If EXf - dont know much about effects
General O/S upgrade - more room for Programs - I'm almost out/and we all know Dan's workaround method ( plz dont say Sequencer lol )
If adding more Phys Mod stuff - I'd like to see the Brass and Reed model

Yamaha C1 Grand Piano.
Korg Oasys 88, Jupiter 80
Kronos 88, V Synth GT
I am a student of classical piano...I am not a classical pianist.

But... What I would like to see released is the EX-Seq: Sequencer Upgrade Expansion.

I don't have one, YET, but I had to dream of what I would want I would want:
Vocoder Exf
And some sort of beat slicing a LA Recycle or the Phrase Factory in the Motif, ties into a suite of features that deals with phrase sampling would be nice.
I also like the idea of the analog/physically modeled percussion synth.
(but wouldn't you be able to program the AL1 and the MS-20 to do analog percussion sounds?)
And who wouldn't want the presets of the M1/T1/Trinity/Triton/Wavestation/M1 converted over to the Oasys? If just for nostalgia alone.
I don't know if it is available in the Oasys now, but maybe a Mastering Suite EXf, for your final mixdown and burn to the internal CDR.
I'm trying to think of the O as a "complete" music production facility, from conception of musical ideas to final CD.
Just my 2 cents.
Now back to saving saving saving for my very own Oasys.

Mono/Poly EXi
Bowed String PM EXi
Piano PM EXi
The Piano EXi should be able to replicate Acoustic and Electric Pianos and I dont have to say that it would venture outside that realm of sounds cause im sure Korg would do that anyway.
Yeah, you could do perc sounds with the MS20/STR, but it would be nice to have a special synth engine tailor made for it with specific features.

"Time Slice lets you convert a mono or stereo rhythmic
sample, such as a drum loop, into a set of individual
hits and matching sequencer data. "
More on page 686 of the PDF Parameter Guide (version E5).
An analog percussion plug-in would be interesting, but you're right - there are already some percussion Programs based on the AL-1, MS-20, and MOD-7.pranaearth wrote:I also like the idea of the analog/physically modeled percussion synth.

That would be good, I agree.pranaearth wrote:And who wouldn't want the presets of the M1/T1/Trinity/Triton/Wavestation/M1 converted over to the Oasys? If just for nostalgia alone.
The OASYS Stereo Mastering Limiter is a clone of the most popular mastering plug-in (rhymes with "Well Fun").pranaearth wrote:I don't know if it is available in the Oasys now, but maybe a Mastering Suite EXf, for your final mixdown and burn to the internal CDR.

More room for programs would definitely be my #1 request.
I think throwing in the Triton/Triton Extreme presets, maybe even with the original samples, would be a great idea. You'd think it wouldn't require too much R&D work (though I could be wrong, of course), & maybe it'd help persuade some Triton/Triton Extreme owners who are attached to their synths to "upgrade".
I'd still like the M3's drum track feature, though Stephen had once said that something like that would be really tough to put in, since it'd require a rewrite of a bunch of stuff.
Beyond that, I'll take whatever other EXi, EXf, OS updates that Korg graciously whips up for us...!
