KARO presents dust protection covers for the Korg OASYS
Hi all,
Now you can order dust protection covers for the Korg OASYS. The following types can be ordered: 76-key version and 88-key version. The covers consist of a rigid textile material in black. You will find the OASYS logo printed in the middle.

Yes that would be useful to know before I order one as I also would like to keep the LCD up with the cover on as I only use it in the studio and no point having to lower and raise the LCD each time I want to cover it. If Karo could let us know that this is possible or not and it will cover the keyboard properly with the LCD up that would be appreciated. Thankssebby2000 wrote:Good new
Does the cover can be used when the LCD touchscreen is get up ?
I would like to avoid to get down the screen each time I put the cover on !
Thank'sEWBR wrote:Hi sebby 2000,sebby2000 wrote:no answers ????
Sorry for the delay, but we are working on the new KARO KDC library.
About the dust cover, normally it was made with the LCD in down position, but there is enough place if the LCD is in up position.
I will make on saturday two additional picutres for the web, so you can check it out.

Oh Yeah, you may not care..however stamping OASYS on some dust cover and selling it is violating Korg's intellectual property rights! Korg spent 10 yrs developing the OASYS name & keyboard!dhjdhj wrote:I don't care WHAT it says --- as long as it fits well.
I bought a cloth one for my 76 at Sweetwater for $18.00. Any local upholstery shop or seat cover shop will make you one exactly as you want it!

I agree with you completely that they are probably in violation if they don't have a license to use the trademark. I have no idea whether they have such a license.
However, if you take your argument to its logical conclusion, then you are putting the onus on the consumer to check before they buy ANY product to ensure that what they are buying is not somehow infringing on someone else's IP.
It is absolutely not MY job to protect Korg's IP and other than any rights I have from "fair use" (probably not many), I wouldn't copy or otherwise leverage their (or anyone else's) IP for any purpose.
If Korg made a dustcover for the Oasys that was reasonably priced, I would have no problem buying their version. But they don't!
When you're finished telling every New Yorker to not buy an imitation Rolex watch or Gucci bag from street vendors in NYC, then feel free to come back and tell me not to buy this particular dustcover
As for my actual comment "I don't care WHAT it says", what I actually meant was that whatever was written (or not) on it had absolutely ZERO impact on my purchasing decision. I wasn't looking for a "designer" cover!
