KP3 and synth/drum sound delay.

Post by ghigo85 »

Hi,

I'm new and I'm sorry for my bad english! :)

I have a question: I bought few days ago a Korg KP3.

It's possible to use the synth and drums sound without the delay?

I mean: if you do just one single note, then you hear the same note delayed.
It's possible to avoid that, and play just the note?

Thank you for your help! :)

I don't believe it is possible. Ridiculous, huh?

Yep...

I also found a topic on this forum with the same question... And the Korg's support told me that it's not possibile to avoid that...

It's very weird... :?

However, I think that some interesting stuff for next kaosspad would be:

a) more synth sound
b) possibility to use it without bpm quantization/delay
c) digital output, not only RCA!!!!

:?

maybe try the kaossilator?
its only synth sounds

digital outputs would be sweet, if it didn't add too much to the price
or even jack i/o... tho going to RCA isn't too much of an issue for me
USB audio i/o would be cool

but i've only used a friends kp3 so i dont know much about it.
i got the impression it was mostly a preset machine
...that had really cool presets
but yeh, wasn't too alterable

i still want one

The problem of RCA is that it's not so suitable for professional use.

And the conversion from digital to analogic (RCA or standard jack) it's not very good, so the quality is not really good.

With a digital output would be much better.

Yes, I have to try out how it works as midi controller with external sound.
If it's possible to use in the same way you can control the synths with external midi sounds it would be a great opportunity.

I love the interface (pad control), but I'm not so happy about the general quality ... :?

I totally disagree with this.
The sounds & loops you can produce depends on your sounds, first, and the KP is really impressive in terms of transformations you can make & keep as new loops.
Very creative and powerful.

I used to think that. Then I thought about it as an effects box with a really awesome interface, which is what it really is. It's as alterable as any pedal or what-have-you, except instead of knobs it has a touch pad.

There is tons of stuff I'd LOVE to be able to program regarding the interface, such as the resolution of the synths but that's not really what it is. In that sense it's preset, but so are most other effects boxes.
