Maybe the kaos pad 3??

Post by sunglasses »

i was interested in the electribe esx for my set up but maybe the korg kaos pad 3 would suit my needs better.

i have an roland SP-303. i want to run my 303 into the kaos pad and sample stuff on the fly.

what i really want to do is this:

have my 303 running into the kaos pad and then i can use the FX on the kaos pad to alter my sound. the 303 does not allow you to sample an incoming single while it is playing so i am wondering can the kaos pad do this?

also i have no recording device at the moment. i can record to computer but my computer is not near my recording devices so sometimes i want to lay scratches over tracks and as i said before the 303 does not allow you to sample while it is playing. would it be possible to have a loop playing on the SP303 and i scratch over it and it all being "sampled" by the kaos pad?

finally i know the kaos pad is supposed to be used as an FX box for a DJ mixer. will i run into any trouble if i am running my 303 directly into it??

thanks in advance

Sure, you can run anything into the KP3 including samplers, synths, even a microphone. As to your other question, yes it does do on the fly sampling but I don't know too much more about it.

Cool, I'm thinking about buying a SP 303 for my kaoss pad actually, since I'm wanting a dedicated sampler/looper. The KP3 is ok for fairly short sampling on the fly. As far as I know a 303 and a KP3 would make a powerful setup as a pair - for what I like to do anyway.

Your gear should be just fine running into the KP3, I've run synths into it, guitars, computers etc etc. The effects are good also.
